Frozen

We received Disney's Frozen in the mail on Tuesday thanks to Amazon pre-ordering and my son Max has been watching it ever since.  This also happens to be the first movie that we brought him to the movie theatre to watch.  It really is a great movie for the whole family to watch as all of my kids enjoyed it.  The musical soundtrack is really great and it has a pretty good storyline as well.  Definitely worth the buy!

Display Shelves

I had mentioned the white face out book shelves in my last post so I thought I would share a picture.  I found these new at goodwill a few years ago and they have been great.  You can also accomplish the same effect with rain gutters for pretty cheap.  Just google it and you can find lots of posts detailing how to make them.

Book shelves!

I don't know about the rest of you but I love looking at pictures of other peoples book shelves.  My book shelves are set up in our dining room and span the entire wall.  It is filled with mostly children's books.  Here is a picture.  You can't see it in this pic but just to the right is a white shelve that allows the books to face out which if you have the space is the ideal way to display books for children.  I use mine to display our themed books such as holidays, seasons or any other theme that they might be covering at school that week.  Right now it is holding spring and Easter themed books.

Easter Books

I picked up two new Easter books the other day while out shopping.  The first one Ollie's Easter Eggs is a very cute book about a goose who sends his friends on an Easter egg hunt.  The second book Honey Bunny Funnybunny is a cute book about siblings and getting along.  It does not really have anything to do with Easter other than the fact that the characters are bunnies.  My three year old enjoyed both stories.

Smelt!

This is a picture from a few months ago.  I was cooking smelt which if you don't know is a little fish that is found in lake superior that goes up streams to breed in the fall, which is when you catch them.  My whole family loves them.  Thankfully my Dad goes out every year to get some and is nice enough to share with us.  If you ever get the chance to try some definitely do.

Comfort food!

Making chili and fry bread!  This is my sister in law Amy's easy chili recipe using bushes baked beans.  It was yummy and really fast.  I will definitely be making this again.   The fry bread is a traditional Native American recipe.  I have been making it for years.  I also use this fry bread recipe to make filled scones with.
